Competitions

Welcome to our third annual Tomahawk Skate Classic 2012 Basic Skills Competion.
Our competition will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at Sara Park Ice Arena in Tomahawk, WI
Registration forms must be postmarked by December 12, 2011.

We have extended our deadline to Friday January 6, 2012. Sorry for any confusion with our late changes

The Basic Skills Program Competition format is offered to encourage participation by first-time competitors and beginners to more advanced skaters in levels ranging from Snow Plow Sam to Preliminary. All ages are encouraged to compete. Grouping by age will be made based on the number and ages of all registrants. For details about each event, download the registration packet.

Basic Events:

  • Basic Skills Elements- Snowplow Sams and Basic 1-8
  • Basic Free Skate- Snowplow and Basic 1-8
  • Dance Solo- Preliminary-Dutch Waltz-PreBronze-Cha Cha

Beyond the Basic Event:

  • Free Skate Elements/Compulsory- Limited Beginner, Beginner, No Test, Pre-Preliminary, Preliminary
  • Test Track Free Skate (Restricted)-Limited Beginner, Beginner, Pre-Preliminary Test, Preliminary Test
  • Well Balanced Free Skate (Unrestricted)-No Test Free Skate, Pre-Preliminary Free Skate, Preliminary Free Skate

Fee: Entry: Fee is $40 per event, $20 each additional event.

Qualifications: Basic Skills Competition is open to any registered US Figure Skating Basic Skills member or full US Figure Skating member. All Snowplow Sam and Basic Skills Skaters through Basic 8 must skate at the highest level passed and no official US Figure Skating tests may have been passed including MIF or individual dances.

Registration: To register, complete pages 4-6 of the Basic Skills Competition packet, plus a Sweatshirt Order Form (if ordering a Sweatshirt) and mail by 12/12/2011.  Make check payable to Tomahawk Figure Skating Club (TFSC) and mail to Peggy Thompson 46 E Birchwood Ave Apt 11, Tomahawk, WI  54487.

Lodging: A block of rooms have been reserved on Friday, January 20, 2012 at a special discount rate at the Rodeway Inn & Suites in Tomahawk. Their address is 1738 Comfort Drive, Tomahawk, WI 54487. To make reservations, please call the hotel directly at 715-453-8900 and mention the "Tomahawk Skate Classic Competition" to get the special discount.

IN THE EVENT THAT ARE NEW ENTRANCE IS NOT FINISHED PLEASE ENTER IN THE VERY FRONT OF THE BUILDING JUST TO YOUR LEFT OF THE NEW EXTRANCE. YOU WILL BE CONING THROUGH THE BANQUET HALL WHERE WE HAVE THE PICTURES, AWARD, AND OUR REGISTRATION TABLE.  FOLLOW THE SIGNS.
